CreationLab | CircusDanceFestival 2021

← CDFthek

This university cooperation invites students from the ZZT School of Dance and the ESAC School of Circus to create and occupy a cinematic space together as part of a three-week creation lab. At the heart of the work process is an encounter that unfolds between these questions: How do we live together? What role does the individual play in this? The starting point for the joint artistic process is based on a socio-political understanding of togetherness. Based on commonalities, the individual is celebrated, imagined, invented and performed together.

Breno Caetano, as a former member of the Israeli Batsheva Company and with a large number of his own works, draws on a diverse wealth of experience in the fields of dance and circus in order to explore, together with the students, their own artistic interfaces and personal spaces of thought. The encounter of the body-based arts in circus and dance will be medially staged and realized through video art. In an interdisciplinary investigation, art and thought, theory and practice, as well as diverse forms of existence and different processes of creation will be explored, with the search for a common language forming the vanishing point.
