Leila Ka with “Pode ser“
Leïla Ka, a dancer from the western French port city of Saint-Nazaire, combines a wide variety of styles and influences in her dance. In the introspective and at the same time universal performance „Pode ser“ she explores the complex difficulties of human existence. The baroque salon of a Parisian town hall is transformed into a stage on which the dancer in a dress, sweatpants and sneakers bitingly explores herself.

Pugno
by Chiara Caterina (IT)
“Pugno” is a cinematic interpretation of the solo performance “Sorry, But I Feel Slightly Disidentified”…“ by director Chiara Chaterina. In her engaging performance, Cherish Menzo fills the screen with her body in constant transformation. On view is a body that intensifies the choreographic score through the perception of a supposed audience. The selected cinematic elements unfold their potential and offer the possibility to be close to the performer. The ossibilitiesies of the camera offer a change of perspective onto the question of identity and social norms.
After the screening, a discussion with choreographer Benjamin Kahn, performer Cherish Menzo and filmmaker Chiara Caterina will round out the evening.
