"Passages" is a stroll through gravity. The installation/performance features a woman who is dancing furiously for her freedom while physically slithering along various boundaries. Alice Rende performs her solo as breathtakingly as humorously, and she does so vertically - in a very narrow rectangular glass box. The French artist's skills in contortion allow an almost unthinkable journey of movement through this object. With her face and body distorted, the glass creates distance and proximity at the same time - is she far away or are we close? Is she confined or protected? Alice Rende visibly creates a space of vertigo and transformation, limited only by four invisible walls. Her signature leaves an impression.
