THEMED PARCOURS: ARCHITECTURE & PUBLIC SPACE

← Themed Parcour

What are you in the mood for today? This year we suggest four different courses through the festival program, to help you navigate through the multitude of performances at the CircusDanceFestival. Just pick a theme that resonates with your curiosity and find your path through the program - see you in the city, in the circus tent and on the meadows along the Rhine!

With its circus ring and the tent as a flying structure, contemporary Circus has a special and characteristic sense for space and architecture. In accordance with the motto “for free & outside”, the tent walls will come down on the opening weekend of the festival. The circus literally comes to town! Knot on Hands will make everyday structures more tangible when they acrobatically play on and reinterpret stairs, columns and walls. Moving bodies and danced sculptures interrupt everyday structures in four freely accessible performances – all around the „Haus der Architektur“ on the Joseph-Haubrich Hof.

Kick Off Weekend with Knot in Hands, Compagnie Barks - Bastian Dausse and Sinking Sideways

Extra tip: On the festival grounds, the 360° stage is located under the open sky. As a stage architecture specially designed for CircusDance, it is worth a visit in itself and will be performed on by a total of nine artists in the 360° shorts:
360° Short I, 360° Short II and 360° Short III.
