In the center, the performance; the audience all around. The circle is one of the most original forms of social gathering — familiar in the circus as the ring or circus arena. The 360° open-air stage of the CircusDanceFestival is a contemporary interpretation of this principle.

Here, young international artists present their latest short pieces. The 360° Circus & Dance program comprises a total of twelve works, which will be shown over three days. The 360° open air format is the annual highlight and the beating heart of the festival.

Contemporary circus meets its counterpart in dance. But there is also room for works that move in between or on the fringes of this genre. Spectacular meets quiet tones, humor meets avant-garde. In short: anything is possible if it is 360°. And that is only possible with you, dear audience.

Otra Vez Lunes (CAT)

This is not a love song

“This Is Not a Love Song” is the tragicomic biodrama of two trapeze artists who struggle with broken hearts but never lose their sense of humor. Cumbia, pistols and “Kill Bill Latino” vibes. With spirited swings, the duo from the Spanish company Otra Vez Lunes takes to the air and charmingly and captivatingly pokes fun at clichés about love, life as a couple and heartbreak.

Cia Express (CAT)

Tango en suspenso

‘Tango en suspenso’ – humor and virtuosity in a danced tango breaks down the boundaries between circus and slapstick theater. An unsuspecting character lands on the dance floor. He tries to keep up with a virtuoso dancer who floats through the air hanging by her hair. Between bated breath and laughter, a tango emerges that is as absurd as it is poetic. Founded in 2023, Cia. Express stands for contemporary circus full of humor, acrobatics and immediate audience proximity.

Universal, sal!

UNIVERSAL, SAL! is a vibrant hula hoop show with variety show charm. Nuria Luna Llena humorously opens the doors to her inner multiverse of fears, patterns and dark thoughts. The mode: passionate, direct and liberating. With frenzied energy and hypnotic hoops, learning becomes an eternal spiral and the stage a place of radical self-empowerment. CLINCH

“CLINCH – Men don't touch, they hit” is a highly physical duet about male role models. With force and precision, two performers deconstruct contemporary masculinity – between competition, confrontation and suppressed feelings. It is about a harshness that rejects closeness and uses violence as an outlet. Physically intense, raw and highly energetic, CLINCH questions toxic masculinity in the here and now.
