Who actually applauds whom at the end of a performance? And how can a performance become a shared experience?
As part of the Come Closer Lab, ten artists from Catalonia (ES) and Cologne/NRW explore their relationship with the audience. The focus is on discovering how participation emerges and how a performance can become a space for collaboration. When does play turn into performance? How much closeness feels comfortable? And: do rehearsals need to change when the audience becomes involved?
This research lab is part of this year’s festival theme, Come Closer. The audience is warmly invited to take part. On two afternoons, the lab opens its doors and offers insights into the ongoing process – open to anyone who is curious and interested in experimenting.
