The festival is also a place for practice, research and knowledge sharing around contemporary circus and its roots in the performing arts. In the festival library, we will be presenting two of the campus projects in a relaxed setting with our guests: Take Care & Archive Lab. The Take Care EU project on mental health is now in its second year. Our guests are Valentina Barone, curator of the two conferences organized by the CDF, and filmmakers Filip Jacobson and Miikkael Kukkula, who are documenting the project. The Archive Lab is a research laboratory focusing on traces and stories based on archive materials and took place this year in the form of a multi-day seminar for Cologne students with theater and dance scholars Mirjam Hildbrand and Johanna Hilari.
TAKE CARE was initiated by FEDEC, the European network for professional circus training, and is being held in cooperation with other partners.
The Archive Lab is a collaboration with the German Dance Archive Cologne, MA Dance Studies at the Centre for Contemporary Dance / Cologne University of Music and Dance, and the Theatre Studies Collection (Schloss Wahn) at the University of Cologne.
