Introduction to Möbius on May 29
On May 19, an introduction will take place before the first performance of Möbius – presented by the artistic director of the Cologne CircusDanceFestival, Tim Behren, who is himself a trained acrobat.
At 7:00 PM on the stage of Depot 3 – you are warmly welcome.
Tim Behren is a choreographer and the artistic director of the company Overhead Project, as well as the curator of the CircusDanceFestival. He completed his acrobatic training as a hand-to-hand acrobat until 2008 at the École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque in Brussels – the same institution where several members of Collectif XY were also trained.
After ten years on stage, he specialized in “Dramaturgie Circassienne” at the Centre National des Arts du Cirque in Châlons-en-Champagne, as well as in “Curating in the Performing Arts” at the Paris Lodron University Salzburg.
Since 2019, he has been curating the CircusDanceFestival, which takes place annually at Pentecost in Cologne and features international productions from contemporary circus and dance. Tim Behren is a founding member of the German Association for Contemporary Circus (Bundesverband Zeitgenössischer Zirkus e. V.). Together with Jenny Patschovsky, he edited the workbook “Circus in Flux – Contemporary Circus” (Theater der Zeit, 2022), which is considered an important contribution to establishing contemporary circus as an art form in Germany.
