Residency Showing | Crispin Bade & Bar Gonen
CircusDanceFestival invites you to the work-in-progress showing of Acoustic Resonance by Crispin Bade and Bar Gonen.
Acoustic Resonance is an interdisciplinary duet of contemporary dance and rope artistry that explores the complexities of human communication. In this piece, two performers from different disciplines – circus and dance – with different mother tongues and cultural contexts – Israel and Germany – meet and seek mutual understanding through movement. Inspired by the phenomenon of acoustic resonance, in which acoustic waves mix with each other and sound is amplified as a result, in this piece we work with the vibrations of the vertical rope and two bodies that try to find each other and yet keep disturbing each other.
Crispin Bade is a contemporary circus artist, dancer and choreographer. After training as a circus educator at the Circus Academy Berlin, he completed a Bachelor of Circus and Performnance at the FHK University of Fine Arts in Tilburg, the Netherlands. During this time he founded the KNOT collective, which specializes in interactive performances at the intersection of circus and dance. Since 2019, he has collaborated as a performer with the circus foundation ‘Panama Pictures, among others.
Bar Gonen is a contemporary dancer and a certified therapist of the Ilan Lev method. She graduated from “Performact”, a 2-years contemporary dance education, Portugal and since then she worked as a freelance with choreographers such as Joachim Schloemer, Smadar Goshen, Maria Pyatkova, Moritz Majce + Sandra Man, Roni Rotem, Sharon Vazanna, Maya Brinner and more. Two solo works that Bar has developed during her studies, performed in Spain, Portugal and The Netherlands.
